Home improvement...fuse box to circuit breaker.?

just bought a duplex 1k sq ft per unit. property has fuse box and the electrician is upgrading them to 100 amp breaker each. is that enough power for the outlets/fridge/stove/washer/dryer/etc? quoted @ about $1,940.00 in the midwest. Should i ask for a 200 amp breaker each or should 100 amp be fine. And is the price ok??
