Wanted to ask if I can get an order of protection on my boyfriend even if he is the owner and he lives here?

my fiancee and me live in the duplex he owns but in separate units, what I wanted to know is if I get an order of protection on him due to him kicking my doors in and domestic abuse he has done to me.and has tried to kick me out on the street and I have no where to go and do not have the money to pay for some other place, can I get an order of protection even if he owns and resides here ?
